Hope

This painting began after I saw posts from the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, which rescues and cares for orphaned baby white rhinos, along with many other animals. Seeing these animals being saved deeply moved me and led me to reflect on the presence of hope in today’s world. Hope is still accessible; it is not lost. 

The image to the right represents hope placed on a pedestal — elevated, honoured, and cherished.

The work is built through layered acrylic, pen and ink, gold leaf, and oil pastel, creating a space that celebrates this sanctuary, its carers, and the extraordinary animals they protect.
